Moving forward (2021) is a piece I created during my time at university. The work consists of three horses belonging to close friends of mine, in order to depict relationships, and optimism.
The title refers to literally moving forward by overcoming issues, through the guidance and assistance of friendship throughout adversity - which holds personal relevance.
Simultaneously, Moving Forward represents my own experience nearing the end of my university studies, with the work being my final assessment for the degree. Here, the symbolic use of the horses looking forward represents my optimism during the stressful time - regarding what the future holds following the completion of my degree.
