Commission work: Staffy (2022)

This artwork is a commission piece, completed as an A3 coloured pencil work. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this work, particularly matching the colours to best compliment this beautiful girl.
Moving Forward (2021)

Moving forward is a piece I created during my time at university. The work consists of three horses belonging to close friends of mine, in order to depict relationships, and optimism.
The title refers to literally moving forward by overcoming issues, through the guidance and assistance of friendship throughout adversity - which holds personal relevance.
Simultaneously, Moving Forward represents my own experience nearing the end of my university studies, with the work being my final assessment for the degree. Here, the symbolic use of the horses looking forward represents my optimism during the stressful time - regarding what the future holds following the completion of my degree.
Barney Carshmore (2020)

This 90 x 120cm drawing was a commission work completed for permanent display in the Gunbower Family Hotel; Gunbower.
The work, taking 70 hours to complete, depicts the late late soldier Barney Cashmore (A.G. Cashmore). The drawing is based off of an A5 image of Mr. Cashmore on his horse, dated to the early 1900's. Mr Cashmore will be permanently commemorated on the hotel wall in the Gunbower Family Hotel for his contribution to the community, war efforts, and for the winning of the Stawell Gift in 1920.
Unique Expressions (2021)

This work was created with the hope of being one of my first artworks to potentially be produced as a print, as a means of elevating my personal art business.
With this work, I aimed to replicate the uniquely inquisitive expression of our family horse Duke, who we hold dear.
Additionally, I have once again symbolically used the horses forward expression to represent my own optimism regarding my art practice, in order to depict a positive and productive approach to my art progression - and its future prospects.
Brothers (2019)

Brothers is a work which represents connection. In this case, the connection between that of my own brother, and my mother’s horse.
I based this work off of a photo that I took as part of my university degree, when studying photography. Where, I found that the image represented a unique connection between animals and people so naturally, due to the non-romanticised, candid nature of the photograph. This special connection was one that I felt needed to be encapsulated in a sketch. I particularly felt drawn to replicating this relationship between animals as I felt that it was one which most, if not all viewers would be able to relate to, and appreciate.
